Qiannan Preschool Education College for Nationalities is located in Guiding County, Qiannan Prefecture. It has two campuses: the new campus covers an area of 641 acres, and the old campus covers an area of 182 acres, with a total construction area of 344,000 square meters. The school currently has 395 full-time teachers, including 98 with senior titles and 164 with doctoral or master's degrees.
The school offers 17 majors in four major groups, including preschool education, art education, primary education, and public administration and service. Among them, preschool education and art education are provincial key and characteristic majors, and preschool education has passed the professional certification of the Ministry of Education.
The school was formerly known as Qiannan Guiding Normal School, which was founded in 1952. It is a key normal school in Guizhou Province. In 1988, it was rated as "National Top 100 Normal Schools" by the Ministry of Education. In 2014, it was upgraded to a college. It is one of only three national higher vocational colleges for early childhood education, a pilot school for the "1+X" certificate system of the Ministry of Education, a municipal (prefecture, county) level base for education cadre training in Guizhou Province, a continuing education training base for professional and technical personnel in Guizhou Province, the 188th national vocational skill appraisal center in Guizhou Province, a Putonghua machine testing station in Guizhou Province, a provincial-level language standardization demonstration school in Guizhou Province, a fitness qigong demonstration school in Guizhou Province, a children's basketball training base in Guizhou Province, an advanced collective in school health work in the province, an advanced collective in school sports work in the province, a teacher education and training base in Qiannan Prefecture, a kindergarten principal and teacher training base in Qiannan Prefecture, and a kindergarten teacher development center in Qiannan Prefecture.
With a long history of education, it is one of the only three ethnic preschool teacher training colleges in China. The school is committed to serving the education reform and development of children aged 0 to 12, and has explored the formation of a training system that integrates "teacher-training, ethnicity, and artistry". It is the cradle of high-level teacher training.
